Your gas meter encounter hazards just by virtue of being in the elements. OTECH gas meter covers were developed to protect the gas meter by minimizing normal weather impacts. The Steel Bollard protects the gas meter from accidental damage from cars and trucks. If the gas meter is mounted near a driveway (as shown), or a parking area than you will need a bollard(s).
OTECH NATURAL GAS METER COVERS are designed to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) REGULATIONS, 49 CFR 192.353 (a).
