Your gas meter encounter hazards just by virtue of being in the elements. OTECH gas meter covers were developed to protect the gas meter by minimizing normal weather impacts. The Steel Bollard protects the gas meter from accidental injury from cars and trucks. If the gas meter is mounted near a driveway (as shown), or a parking area than you will need a bollard(s).
